Calling all caring, concerned and dedicated people. And that is just about all of you!
St John Ambulance Wyndham is seeking more community members to join our dedicated team of volunteers in the vibrant northern community of Wyndham.
" Hi, I am Kerry Lines, the Chairperson of St John Ambulance Wyndham. I would like to encourage those with an interest in volunteering and who want to make a difference in the Wyndham 
community to consider becoming a St John Ambulance Wyndham volunteer.
It's the volunteers from the community who ensure they get the ambulance service they deserve and one that they can be proud of. The service relies on community support to ensure it operates effectively.
It is vital we receive community support in helping to maintain the ambulance service and continue providing a high level of care in emergency situations in and around Wyndham.
Volunteering with St John Ambulance can be a very rewarding experience. Volunteering is ideal for anyone who has time to spare and wants to make a difference, while learning life-saving new skills. It doesn't matter if you're 21, 71 or an age in between, we are always on the look out for new volunteers to help in any way possible."
St John Ambulance provides free training in Wyndham for all volunteers with the Ambulance Service and is very supportive of new volunteers. Training is conducted to a level at which the volunteer will feel comfortable, confident and ready for the road.
After receiving full training and guidance, volunteer ambulance officers receive ongoing support and are given the flexibility of choosing a roster which best suits their other commitments.
To be a volunteer you need to have a mature disposition, be medically and physically fit, have a current West Australian driver's licence, a police clearance and a desire to service the community. Volunteers should hold or be willing to obtain a St John Ambulance Senior First Aid Certificate.
Not only are we looking for volunteers to train as ambulance officers but we are also looking for volunteers to help out with First Aid training, administration duties, vehicle and building maintenance or as a committee member.
