Wyndham Telecentre

Wyndham Telecentre has been operating since 1997...

A Telecentre is a friendly place where people can come to surf the internet, check emails, get advice and support for new technology, look for a job, contribute to the local community, pass on news, read the paper or meet people face to face from the other side of the country or world via video conferencing…

The Wyndham Telecentre is a community centre, a member of the WA Telecentre Network which has been established to deliver many services to communities accross WA. 

The Wyndham Telecentre is an important part of the community in many ways.  We attempt to offer a range of services that people would generally have to travel at least 100kms (each way) to Kununurra for.  Many don’t have access to vehicles and it increases the already high cost of living in a remote location. The Telecentre provides a link to  the main source of information within the Communities of Wyndham, Kalumburu and Oombulgurri and many more living and working on remote stations in the East Kimberley, through it’s production of the local paper, “The Bastion Bulletin”. 

The Telecentre is constantly looking for ways to become more versatile by increasing the range of services offered to the community, which makes it an integral part of our community.

At the Wyndham Telecentre you can download and print your digital photos, we can even restore old photos back to their former glory.  You can send a fax, you can design a brochure, or a business card… you can print and distribute them from the Telecentre…

You can look for work, you can type up your resume, email an application or apply online for work through our Employment Directions service.

You can access Centrelink, ATO information, Dept of Aging information… the list goes on …. It is easy to see where we get our motto “I did it at a Telecentre…” from.

The Wyndham Telecentre now has new face paint, thanks to building upgrades from the Department of Housing and Works and the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (our landlords!).  Our new roof is on and we are planning our grand re-opening and launch of the Wyndham community website.  Thanks to all who were patient and helped out over the past couple of months.  It is greatly appreciated!  Now we can start on the garden!
