Ngnowar Aerwah Aboriginal Corporation provides Outreach services to Wyndham and outlying communities as needed. Some of the services offered are:
Night Patrol
Picking up people on the streets who are under the influence of alcohol and taking them to somewhere safe.
Sobering Up Shelter
Providing a safe place / somewhere to sleep for the night for intoxicated people. Those who sleep over night get their clothes washed and aer given their breakfast before they leave.
Drug and Alcohol Counselling
Counsellors provide a service to Individuals or groups for issues that arise due to alcohol and other drugs – the community are also welcome to come and have a cup of tea anytime during the day.
Stolen Generation issues
Counselling for both Families and individuals: This Program deals with people who were removed as a result of the then Government Policies and regulations – it also focuses on their family to address some of the Transgenerational stuff that have resulted due to the removal. This Program also covers the Youth component especially around issues if Suicide Prevention and Awareness for them.
Re- Entry Program
This Program works with Prisoners and helps them prepare for their return to their Communities – this is done through support and interaction with the prisoners by the Project Officer.
Residential Rehabilitation Program
This is live in Rehab Program for Community Members wishing to dry out or give up drinking, these people undergo a 13 week program where they are provided with both Individual and group counseling sessions. They are provided with information about the issues that dependence on alcohol could cause ie Family Break Up – Family Violence, Low Self esteem – Health Issues on so on.
